Committee

Meeting

We are located 2 Miles from Loch Lomond on the A809 about half way between Milngavie and Drymen. Please see map.

We have an excellent field, which is well maintained with virtually no obstructions. There are no restrictions at the field, which can be used 24/7

We accommodate most types of radio controlled model aircraft, including fixed wing, multi-engine, helicopters and gliders.

Free instruction to novice members is offered, with the expectation that they will give instruction free to future novice members.
The club is affiliated to the Scottish Aeromodellers Association and operate to their safety code and achievement scheme.

If you would like to join our club or ask us about model flying, send us an email.

Come along and meet us Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday afternoons at the field.

News

It’s official.

A Meeting was called with the land owner on Thursday night 14/1/10.

In attendance were the Land Owner, our Chairman, Secretary and one other member of the committee

During the negotiations it was noted the prevailing winds at the field for the last 30 years. Making the decision as to the position of the pits and car park areas easier, the information was greatly appreciated.

The Chairman signed up for a long term lease, with the option to continue the lease long term.

The paper work was signed, as a thank you a nice bottle of Whisky was presented to the land owner.

The work needed to complete the field will be monumental; it would be greatly appreciated if members would give some of their valuable time to help with the construction.

Work will start in March 2010, hopefully to be ready for July-August 2010.

Dates and times will be posted closer to the time.

Please Note That Your Subscriptions are now due.

You can find a map of the new proposed site here

Flying Start!

A model aircraft club hopes local businesses can give them a flying start in Kirkintilloch the Glasgow Barnstormers currently fly models near Milngavie. But want to use a field in Kirkintilloch. They have found a suitable site on Birdston Road and hope to have it up and running by summer. However club chairman Richard McKnight said we need to flatten the field, seed it. Get a porta-cabin and grass cutting machinery? So we really need a bit of sponsorship and hoped local businesses might like to help us out
