Its official The Barnstormers have been awarded £10,000 from the National Lottery. This money will be used for the development of our new field in Kirkintilloch. All the main work is just about finished and as you can imagine the money is being well spent. News NEW Field Is Now OPEN The field is looking good now, with lush green grass all over, which has been cut several times now. With the exception of the weather, The field is being used virtually every day. Probably due to the new facilities we have provided, The club membership has increased by almost 100%, this is a fantastic achievement which all members of the committee must be congratulated. The slabs and the safety fences and the car park are all complete, the port-a-cabin has power and heating, tea and coffee is provided (for a small donation please). We have also several field tables which are used for the assembling of models (saves the old back) Interested?? We are currently located on the B757 Birdston Road
about half way between Kirkintilloch and Milton of Campsie. From
Kirkintilloch we are about 1 1/2 miles from the MacDonald’s on the
left of the road, entrance is via the Red Gate.
With exception to the gun club we have access 9am
to 8pm every day Free instruction to novice members is offered, with the expectation that they will give instruction free to future novice members. The club is affiliated to the SAA and operate to their safety code and achievement scheme. If you would like to join our club or ask us about model flying, send us an email.

Sunday 15th August The Barnstormers New Field at Kirkintilloch Official Opening Day
The chairman has organised an open day, which will celebrate the official opening of the new field, all club members, family and friends, dignitaries, local press, youth groups and the police are all invited. The plan is to have a relaxed days flying with some special pilot/flight displays on show, a BBQ will also be running for most of the day, where burger rolls and Square sausage rolls will be the order of the day; a donation of £1.50 will get you a burger and a can of soft drink (good value we think) We will also be running a Bring + Buy sale you can down load a form HERE Training models will be available for members of the public to “have a go” under the close tutelage of our instructors. The chairman asks all members to attend, show your support for the club and the committee for all their hard work. Bodies may be required to help with the running of the day, can you help? If so, please contact a member of the committee ASAP. As parking may be tight, please use the Gun clubs container area and entrance road as a temporary car park. All are welcome; proof of insurance is required for solo flight. The day kicks off at 11.30am till late. Just pray for sunshine!!!!!!!!
